Mary previously served as a Senior Communications Specialist for Battelle for Kids, a non-profit organization that partners with state departments of education, school districts, educators and education-focused groups to improve teaching and learning. She spearheaded a multi-year campaign to build Tulsa Public Schools' brand, which helped recruit more than 500 educators to the district. This work received the "Award of Excellence" from the Oklahoma School Public Relations Association, and Mary was selected to speak about these efforts at the National School Public Relations Association's National Seminar in 2015.

As part of the Ohio TIF (Teacher Incentive Fund) team, Mary had the opportunity to create a series of videos and case studies that showcased how schools in some of the state's most economically disadvantaged regions dramatically improved education for students. 

In her role as an Account Manager, Mary Franz brings more than 12 years of experience in journalism, communications, event marketing and public relations—supporting clients across a variety of industries from public education to fashion to hospitality.

Prior to her work in the non-profit sector, Mary served as an Event Coordinator for Nordstrom in Chicago—helping the company promote its designer brands through exclusive experiences in 15 markets across the Midwest. Partnering with Chanel, Gucci and a myriad of other luxury retailers, Mary planned galas, private shopping events, trunk shows and launches. She received the "All-Star" award, the company's highest honor, for her positive attitude and work ethic.  

After obtaining her B.A. in Communication from the University of Missouri, Mary began her career as a contributing writer for St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles magazine.
