MARY FRANZ, Copywriter
With an inquisitive mind, deep sense of empathy and ability to truly listen and connect with all types of people, Mary frequently finds herself lost in conversation with perfect strangers.
So, it’s only natural that she serves as Approach’s chief copywriter, crafting authentic stories on her clients’ behalf—from press releases to website content and social media posts to thought leadership articles for publications such as Forbes. Mary has partnered with organizations from start-ups to non-profits and corporations across industries such as education, healthcare, technology and retail.
In her previous communications role with Battelle for Kids, Mary worked hand-in-hand with state departments of education, school districts and education-focused groups to improve teaching and learning.
She’s proud to have spearheaded a multi-year campaign to build Tulsa Public Schools' brand, which helped recruit more than 500 educators to the district. Receiving the "Award of Excellence" from the Oklahoma School Public Relations Association, Mary was invited to speak at the National School Public Relations Association's National Seminar.
As an event coordinator for Nordstrom, Mary promoted designers such as Chanel, Gucci and Burberry across 15 markets in the Midwest. She was delighted to receive the "All-Star" award, the company's highest honor, for her positive attitude and work ethic.
And after obtaining a degree in communication from the University of Missouri, Mary jumpstarted her career as a contributing writer for St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles magazine.
I think one of the best things we can do for ourselves is to step outside our comfort zones and experience different cultures. Opening our eyes and understanding the way other people live is important to developing an open mind and thinking outside the box.
Won’t stop short of perfection. Her copyediting “eagle eye” guarantees your content is grammatically perfect, well-read and polished.
Is determined to find a way. Budget constraints? An aggressive timeline? “No” is not really part of her vocabulary—she’ll make it happen.
Believes in the art of conversation. In a world characterized by emails, she sees real value in face-to-face and video conversations.
Plans a party like no other. With experience managing events for luxury retailers, she’ll ensure your grand opening goes off without a hitch.
