LIZ WOERTH, Head of Talent
As the first consultant Megan ever hired, Liz has learned a thing or two about what it takes to thrive at Approach. She is keenly aware of what makes this agency so special: exceptional talent, a roll-up-your sleeves attitude and a passion for doing whatever it takes to help our clients succeed.
At Approach, Liz serves in a unique dual role as an Account Manager, as well as Head of Talent. In her talent management role, Liz is responsible for bringing together the very best consultants to serve our clients.
And as an Account Manager, she executes media relations and influencer engagement strategies for national and local client accounts—spanning multiple industries, including food & beverage, sports & fitness, entertainment, children & parenting, professional services and nonprofit organizations.
Liz’s work has been recognized by national and local media and industry organizations, including PRWeek, Central Ohio PRSA, Columbus Business First and the American Marketing Association of Columbus. Liz was also recognized as a “Person to Know in PR and Marketing” by Columbus Business First in 2017.
Before joining Approach, Liz was an Account Director at Chicago’s Golin where she spent six years overseeing global and national programs for McDonald’s, including the Beijing Olympic Games, McDonald’s Mom’s Correspondents and FIFA World Cup South Africa. She also worked on World Children’s Day, McDonald’s’ largest fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), and led the McDonald’s All American Basketball Games, an all-star basketball event that raises funds and awareness for RMHC.
Liz holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Public Relations from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
CULTURE IS ALL
Your culture is your business plan. One of our greatest strengths as we grow this agency is to maintain our unique virtual culture, which is underpinned by showing up every day to do our very best work and to be fully present in our personal lives.
Thrives on storytelling. Sharing the right idea with the right reporter at the right time, and generating a great resulting story continues to be the best part of her job.
Is proud of the long-term, trusted client partnerships we’ve created at Approach. Several clients have been with us since the beginning and now they feel like family.
Believes in picking up the phone. Maybe it’s old school, but when pitching media or counseling a teammate or client, she chooses live conversations over email, every time.
Would rather read than do almost anything else. An avid reader, she easily blows through 75-100 books each year. (Yep, you read that right.)
