Julie’s voice is seldom the loudest in the room—because she believes in listening more than talking. It’s in her nature to ask questions, uncover unique stories and make personal connections…qualities that serve her both personally and professionally.

With Approach Marketing, Julie easily forms relationships with clients, from startups to large companies, representing industries in business-to-business, retail, consumer goods and nonprofits.

Keenly aware that there isn’t one silver bullet for PR success, she has a passion for developing holistic approaches to public relations and marketing strategy, using a mix of tactics to bring clients’ stories to life.

Julie specializes in executive thought leadership and media relations, helping clients find the right approach for the right audience at the right time.

These efforts have resulted in placements in national outlets, including TODAY and Entrepreneur, healthcare and HR trade publications as well as Columbus-based media, such as The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus CEO, Columbus Business First and network TV stations.

Prior to joining Approach, Julie worked at Battelle for Kids, helping state departments of education and school districts develop and implement communications campaigns for both internal and external audiences. She was invited to present on the topic of parent engagement at both statewide and national conferences.

She began her career in public affairs for the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio, followed by communications, speechwriting and media relations for the Ohio Department of Education.

Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Dayton and a Master’s in Public Administration from Ohio University.
