Megan Shroy
Founder & President, Approach Marketing

Megan’s experience spans industries from business-to-consumer, business-to-business, finance, education, professional services and nonprofit. She comes from an agency background having worked for Chicago’s Golin, one of the world’s leading public relations firms, and Columbus-based Paul Werth Associates.

In 2010, Megan identified a demand in the industry. Despite the economic downturn, clients still needed access to top PR and marketing talent, but could no longer afford the agency overhead and large retainer-based relationships. Thus, the Approach Marketing concept was born - independent consultants coming together to staff accounts of all sizes. Approach Marketing offers clients expert marketing consulting, quick turnaround and execution within budget.

At Approach Marketing, Megan acts as head of accounts, managing a team of marketing and public relations consultants and leading new business efforts.

She has worked on account teams for some of the world’s leading brands, including McDonald’s, JP Morgan Chase, Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop and Make-A-Wish.

With a specialty in executive branding, Megan acts as the personal publicist to a wide variety of Presidents and CEOs. She has publicized books for Jane Grote Abell, Chairwoman of the Board for Donatos Pizza; Tami Longaberger, CEO of The Longaberger Company; and Nancy O’Dell, Emmy Award-winning journalist and host of Entertainment Tonight, among others.

Specializing in media relations, Megan has secured hundreds of media placements for her clients. To date, top national placements include The Today Show, FOX & Friends, CNN, Forbes, USA Today, Martha Stewart, Parents, Allure, The Wall Street Journal, US Weekly, Los Angeles Times and The Associated Press.

Megan has received a number of awards and recognitions. In 2016 alone, she was named a Forty Under 40 honoree by Columbus Business First and featured in People to Know in Advertising, PR and Media. Smart Business Magazine also recognized Megan as a Progressive Entrepreneur honoree at the Smart Women Awards and she was named by PR News to Top Women in PR. She has been featured in PR Week, PR News, Bulldog Reporter, Columbus CEO, Columbus Business First and several other media outlets.

Megan graduated from Wittenberg University (OH) where she earned a B.A. in Communication and a double minor in Journalism and Business Management.
