Account Manager, Approach Marketing
Becky Olson is an Account Manager with more than 14 years of traditional public relations and social/digital media experience from a wealth of food/beverage, travel/leisure and CPG clients.
Prior to joining Approach Marketing, Becky served as a Director with Golin, managing campaigns for Lipton Iced Tea, Libbey and the Florida Department of Citrus. This included overseeing new product launches, spokesperson relationships, national media events and social media content.
Previously, she served as a Director/Vice President with Zócalo Group, providing strategic counsel and word of mouth/social media campaign management for Werther's Original and Werther’s Original Sugar Free, as well as Unilever's I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!, Brummel & Brown and Bertolli brands.
Becky’s traditional and social media programs have earned at least a dozen industry honors from organizations including Facebook, PR Week, PRNews, The Holmes Report, The International Association of Business Communicators, Bulldog Reporter, PRSA, The Webbys and Publicity Club of Chicago.
Upon moving to Chicago, Becky spent seven years with Golin, successfully leading the Florida Department of Citrus account, which included traditional and social media campaigns for orange juice, grapefruit juice and fresh citrus varieties. She also devoted time to several Unilever brands, including Breyers, Klondike and I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!, as well as Schwan’s Red Barron Pizza. In addition to developing social media strategies, Becky executed national media events and deskside tours, celebrity partnerships, anniversary campaigns, new product launches and issues management.
Becky began her career in Milwaukee, working at HY Connect and then BVK, leading media efforts for Subway, the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism, Kohler Co. and several other home/houseware brands.
